Hi! How are you?

What a wild month. A hurricane came through a few weeks ago and it was like no hurricane I had ever experienced. It brought tornadoes to our area and left some parts of our community completely devastated. Fortunately, we made it through unscathed.

Things are moving along. The girls got a cold, we all survived. We took a fall trip to CT and it was magical. We did all the fall things, ate yummy Italian food in New Haven, and enjoyed lots of family time.

We recently had our family photos taken by the talented Kristen Browning. She never ceases to amaze me during these sessions. She is always calm and is so easy to work with. She has some spots left for her November mini-sessions and you should probably snag one before they’re gone.

Still so good.

The Leather Post Wallet

Are wallets still a thing? I honestly have no idea. I rarely carry one, but this Leather Post Wallet from Madewell has stood the test of time. I got mine as a gift probably 10 years ago and it is still in such good shape. If you are looking for a timeless, well-made wallet, this is it.

Cookie Pie Recipe

Halloween Candy Recipe

The best cookie pies ever.

I have no idea how I happened upon this recipe, but I have been making it for years. It’s from Spoonful of Flavor, but I can’t find the original recipe on the website (it’s that old). It’s a fun recipe to make any time of year, but if you end up with a ton of chocolate Halloween candy these are a great way to bake with it.

Recent clean buy.

JUNO & Co. Exfoliating Face Wash

I’ve recently been more intentional about my skincare and am upping my effort level. This face wash has been a nice addition to my nightly routine. If I wear makeup I apply an oil cleanser first, then follow up with this exfoliating wash. I use it on its own if I don’t wear makeup that day, which is most days. It’s a steal at $17 and is on the “cleaner” side of cleansers.

Local Love

Kemp Aesthetics & Wellness Clinic

It’s extremely rare for me to get a facial, but I’ve loved my experiences with Denise at Kemp Aesthetics & Wellness Clinic. The space is nice and relaxing, the offerings are fantastic, and Denise is so accommodating. I had to cancel on her TWICE before finally having childcare coverage for my appointment. I got her hydrodermabrasion treatment with red light therapy and it was exactly what my skin needed. A nice little reset for the fall.
